In October, Guy Shennan from THJFA joined a number of other members of the British Association of Social Workers on a tour of the West Bank. Guy and others did skills-sharing workshops in a number of Palestinian towns and villages including Jenin. Whilst there, these British social workers heard shocking accounts of what Palestinians had witnessed and experienced as a result of occupation. Most shocking of all was seeing the treatment of Palestinian child prisoners. Thanks to Defence of Children International, they were able to visit a court and see how Palestinian children are hauled before courts in chains. A powerful letter describing their experiences was published as the lead letter in the Guardian newspaper along with other letters on the same issue.
